In a dazzling display of tactical prowess, 11-year-old Filipino American chess sensation, Megan Althea Obrero Paragua, has emerged triumphant at the prestigious World Cadet Rapid and Blitz Championships 2024 held in Durres, Albania.

With a stellar performance in the Rapid Girls 12 and under category, Paragua showcased her strategic brilliance, securing victory with a remarkable 9.5 points, including eight wins and three draws.

Guided by her mentor Sophia Rhode, Paragua's journey to victory was marked by sheer determination and unwavering focus. From a nail-biting 66-move showdown in the final match to swift victories in earlier rounds, Paragua left spectators in awe with her masterful play.
