VP Sara offers “Magnegosyo ‘ta day” to women, LGBTQ+, marginalized sectors in Digos

DIGOS CITY (PIA)—Vice President Sara Duterte called on all women’s groups, LGBTQ+ community, and marginalized sectors that may not have access to traditional funding to apply at the Office of Vice President through the Magnegosyo ‘ta day program.

***Speaking as a guest of honor during the 23rd founding anniversary of Digos City today  (Sept. 8), she said that her office has a grant from five hundred thousand pesos to one million pesos to support small and medium enterprises.

Vice President Duterte said that along with the grant, the loan grantees will have the opportunity to be trained on how to run a business.

“We see that many people are into business but many people are also losing and wallowing in debts.  We will train you in business management to ensure the success of your business,” she said.

Vice President Duterte said that Digos City serves as an inspiration to the surrounding areas with many Digoseños indulging in entrepreneurial activities such as the making of bibingka or rice cakes.

She also thanked Digos City and the whole province of Davao del Sur for supporting the candidacy of the 12 senators in the 2019 elections by voting 12-0.

Duterte said only four provinces gave a 12-0 vote for senators whom she campaigned thoroughly, and one of these provinces is Davao del Sur with Digos City.

“It was the election of Senators Francis Tolentino and Imee Marcos,” she said.

Duterte recalled that in 2022, one of the provinces that gave her runaway votes was the province of Davao del Sur.

She said she was never a resident of Digos City or anywhere in the province, but surely the people are closed to her heart.  (JSGD-Davao del Sur)
