This was revealed by Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Expo president Marilou Ampuan during her guesting at the Kapehan sa Dabaw held on Monday (July 24) at SM City Davao.
“Upon checking the terminal report from the Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Expo sa actual sales umabot ng Php 821,155.07 sa negotiated sales Php1,121,864.90 and the booked sales for this event is almost Php 2.9 million,” Ampuan said.
She said overall sales for this year’s Halal expo increased by 30% as compared to the previous year.
“Ang booked sales ay yung mga order na po na mga food products and potential services while negotiated sales is ongoing, possible o hindi,” Ampuan said.
She said the expo held at the SMX was able to showcase 400 kinds of Halal and Halal potential products and services.
“The expo was a very remarkable event, we had 4,000 to 5,000 traffic a day with all the support from the different government agencies and private sectors,” Ampuan added.
The halal expo provided a platform to over 200 MSME engaging in Halal products and related services. Ampuan said the importance of the event was that they were able to harness the Halal ecosystem which is a very big global market which according to Ampuan amounts to a $7.2 trillion economy worldwide.
