Davao City Police Office in its report identified the victims as Brgy Kagawad Joel Daguinsal Siawan, 37 and Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR), Ernesto Linog Matalam, 52. The two are residents of said barangay.
Investigation showed that the victims together with other companions were on the way going to the said barangay to conduct a tribal ritual when they were fired upon by still unknown suspects.
The suspects, after the incident fled towards the hilly forested area of the place.
The police are still verifying the motive of the incident while a joint hot pursuit operation is being launched by the authorities to hunt down the persons behind the death of the village officials.
