DAVAO CITY- Members of the Philippine Army’s 28th Infantry Battalion under the10th Infantry Division are preparing to be deployed to the United Nations for Peace Support Operations (PSO) mission.

The 28th IB will comprise the Core Unit of the Philippine Army United Nations Light Infantry Battalion (Team) for the UN PSO Mission.

"Your actions will speak volumes about the character and results of the Filipino soldiers. Remember, you are not only representing the 10th Infantry Division but also the Philippine Army and the Philippines as a whole. Your conduct will shape the perception of future Filipino peacekeepers, and you have the power to inspire generations to come," Niembra said.

During the ceremony, the 28th IB received Command Plaques from the 1001st Infantry Brigade and the 10th ID for their efforts in destroying New People’s Army (NPA) Guerilla Front 2 and Sub-Regional Guerilla Unit (SRGU) of Sub-Regional Committee 2 (SRC 2), all under the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC).
