P13.6-M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Sulu; 3 suspects nabbed

DAVAO CITY- Police operatives seized two kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P13.6 million from a barangay official and two others following a buy-bust operation in Kilometer 2, Kajatian, Indanan, Sulu on Saturday (Dec. 4).


Indanan Municipal Police Station identified the arrested drug suspects as barangay kagawad Ilaha Sabdin Yahya, 48, of Gata-Gata, Panglima Estino, Sulu; Muride Jarih Ahajan, 31, and Elwina Hamidan Unaid, 24, student.

The suspects are now detained at the custodial facility of Indanan Municipal Police Station while the recovered pieces of evidence were taken by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for laboratory examination and proper disposition.

A case for violation of Republic 9165, or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.

Police Brigadier General Eden Ugale, provincial director of Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) lauded the operating personnel and units for the PNP’s successful operation against illegal drugs.
