Verse of the Day | August 18, 2024
- ξ
βNo one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.β
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in fullβpressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
"But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
βYour word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.β
βThe Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.β
βThen you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.β
βThen you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.β
He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully.
"Do not be one who shakes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts; if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you."
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
"Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless."
Donβt love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, βI will never fail you. I will never abandon you.β
And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
But those who wonβt care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.
