174,807 visit cemeteries as Davao City records zero Undas incidents

DAVAO CITY — The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported zero security incidents during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day (Undas 2026), as a total of 174,807 people visited cemeteries across the city to remember their departed loved ones.

The DCPO, under the leadership of City Director Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria, successfully carried out its security operations through the coordinated efforts of police personnel, partner agencies, and community volunteers.

A total of 556 police personnel were deployed, alongside 136 personnel from augmentation units, including Task Force Davao (TFD), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The security deployment was further supported by 1,232 members of various advocacy groups who assisted in maintaining peace and order during the two-day observance.

In coordination with local government units and other members of the city's safety and security cluster, the DCPO implemented heightened police visibility, security measures, and crowd management operations in cemeteries and other public areas.

Madria credited the incident-free observance to the commitment of deployed personnel, the support of partner agencies and advocacy groups, and the cooperation of the public.

He emphasized that the successful implementation of the Undas security operations demonstrated the importance of preparedness, inter-agency coordination, and community participation in keeping Davao City safe. Bumiling Globo
