The move followed a recommendation by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to file charges against officials over their alleged involvement in anomalous flood control projects awarded to contractor Genesis88 in Davao City when they were serving at the DPWH Davao City District Engineering Office.

Also removed from his position was Cebu 4th District Construction Chief Engr. Renato J. Catingub following reports alleging that he had demanded money from contractors.

The personnel changes come amid President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to hold accountable those involved in alleged irregularities in government infrastructure projects.

The administration has vowed to pursue reforms and clean up the agency to restore public trust in government.
