Duterte offices extend immediate aid to fire-affected families

DAVAO CITY – The offices of Davao City First District Rep. Paolo Z. Duterte and Vice Mayor Rodrigo S. Duterte II distributed immediate relief aid to fire victims on Rose Street, Sabroso, Barangay 76-A Bucana in Davao City on Wednesday evening, May 6.

Staff from the two offices distributed relief goods, including food packs, bottled mineral water, and food containers, to at least five families displaced by the fire. In addition, they also provided hot meals to 28 individuals.

The fire broke out in a house along Rose Street at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, affecting several families in the area. As of now, the City Social Welfare and Development Office is still counting the number of families totally affected by the incident.

According to the Davao City Fire District, the fire was first reported shortly after 4 p.m., prompting an immediate response from firefighters and emergency personnel. Upon arrival, the blaze escalated, leading to the declaration of a second alarm.

The authorities have yet to release further details on the cause of the incident, while fire investigators continue to conduct an on-site assessment and gather statements to determine how it began.
