The Bridge is one of the major infrastructure projects in Davao City forms in an integral component of the national “Build, Build, Build” initiative, and is envisioned to ease traffic congestion, improve transportation efficiency, and strenthen economic mobility within the city.
Second District Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, who authors the resolution commending the Chinese Government under President Jinping said that China extended vital financial and technical support for the implementation of the Bucana Bridge, demostrating sincere partnership and goodwill toward the Filipino people .
According to Dayanghirang, the assistance of China in the city reflects a deepened bilateral cooperation and a commitment to shared progress, development, and mutual respect.
The Philippines and China share a long and rich history of cultural, economic, and social exchanges that that traces back to pre-colonial time, with centuries of thriving trade, close community interactions, and enduring people -to -people relations.
Philippines and China’s diplomatic relations was established on June 9, 1975 and have continued to expand across areas nsuch as infrastructure development, commerce, public security, education, cultural exchanges,and tourism.
During recent years, the strengthened ties between the two nations have resulted in various cooperative projects, including bridges, flood control systems, road networks, and social development programs that directly benefit local communities.
Dayanghirang said the realization of the Bucana Bridge serves as a prominent symbol of the friendship between the Philippines and China, highlighting China’s active role in supporting the country’s development agenda and uplifting the welfare of the people in the city.
The copy of the approved resolution will be furnished to the embassy of the People’s Republic of China , the Office of President Xi Jinping through diplomatic channels and other relevant agencies for their information and guidance.
