Davao City extends P5.9M aid to LGUs hit by Typhoon Tino
The City Government of Davao allocated P5.9million in financial assistance to several local government units that have declared a state of calamity following the devastation of Typhoon Tino.
The ordinance authorizing the financial aid was approved by the 21st City Council on December 2, 2025.
Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, Chairperson of Committee on Finance, Ways and Means, and Appropriations said that the City Mayor will utilize a portion of the 30 percent Quick Response fund out of the five percent Disaster Risk Reduction and Management fund of the City Government of Davao for 2025.
The financial assistance are intended to support the rehabilitation efforts to the Province of Dinagat Islands (P 1,000,000.00), P 500,000.00 for Cebu City, City of Bago, Negros Occidental, City of Canlaon, Negros Oriental.
Meanwhile, a P 300,000 financial aid is allocated for each of the municipalities of Compostela and Balamban, Cebu, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, San Enrique, Negros Occidental, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, Isabela, Negros Occidental and Pototan, IloIlo.
Dayanghirang also emphasized that Davao City remains financially prepared, with an available balance of P 201,375,187, ensuring that the city can continue to respond to emergencies.
“We have an available balance of Two Hundred One Million, Three Hundred Seventy-five Thousand, One Hundred Eighty-seven pesos (P 201,375,187),” he said.
Even prior to the approval of the financial aid, the City Government of Davao, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), already extended 5,000 food packs and a total of P 6.6 million-worth of financial assistance to earthquake-hit Cebu and Davao Oriental. CIO
