368 students, graduates in Davao Oriental complete DSWD’s 50-day Cash-for-Work Program

A total of 368 students and graduates of Davao Oriental State University completed the 50-day Cash-for-Work (CFW) program of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 11.

The program is under the KALAHI-CIDSS initiative of the agency. 

The culminating activity and payout took place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Davao Oriental Provincial Capitol in Mati City.

The CFW program provided participants with temporary employment opportunities, allowing them to gain practical work experience. Each beneficiary received financial assistance commensurate with their rendered services.

DSWD 11  Regional Director Rhuelo Aradanas, represented by Promotive Services Division Chief Sheryl Ann Ramirez, emphasized the importance of perseverance and dedication in achieving personal and professional goals.

 Ramirez  commended the beneficiaries for their commitment to the program and encouraged them to apply the skills and experiences gained to future endeavors.

Deputy National Program Manager for Operations Rolando Villacorta Jr. meanwhile, highlights  the significance of the CFW program in empowering the youth and fostering community engagement.

The  Department of Labor and Employment Region 11 also conducted a specialized training module on personal branding and workplace professionalism for graduate-level beneficiaries.

The KALAHI-CIDSS CFW initiative aligns with the DSWD's mission to promote inclusive growth and social protection by offering opportunities for skill development and employment to vulnerable sectors. Through such programs, the department aims to uplift communities and support the nation's development goals.
