Captain John Louie Dema-ala, Civil Military Operations Officer of Task Force Davao told the City Information Office that the arrests were the product of the joint effort of security forces in Davao City in guarding the borders with other areas.
“Makita nato nga kini through dedication sa atong personahe kung asa nagbantay 24 hours ug ginapakita pud nato nga inyong task force davao dedicated sa pag secure sa Davao City nga,” Dema-ala said.
He said that the arrests of the suspects serve as a warning to those who plan to bring contraband into the city.
“Kung kinsa man sa ilaha ang nag plano nga magsulod og illegal diri sa Davao City, dili nalang nila buhaton kay ang atong ginabuhat ang hugot nga pagbantay sa Davao City, at the same time aware pud ang Dabawenyo sa atong security protocols nga ginapatuman diri,” he said.
Dema-ala said that the arrested persons were handed over to designated police stations.
TF is in partnership with the Davao City Police Office to maintain peace and order in the city. The DCPO Police stations on the other hand also conducted successful operations against illegal drugs as reported on its official page from July 2-3, 2024.
The DCPO arrested 13 persons from six operations conducted between July 2, 2024, to July 3, 2024, and also led them to confiscate illegal drugs estimated to be about Php 6,855,472.
