In a post made by a concerned Dabawenyo, a Honda Civic was reportedly “stolen” from Buhangin. A separate post surfaced not long after about a Mitsubishi Mirage that, according to the friend of the owner, was apparently carnapped in the same district.
However, the Buhangin Police made a post clarifying the alleged issue of carnapping in its area of responsibility after the owner of the Mitsubishi Mirage personally went to the station to manifest that contrary to the post made by their friend, the vehicle was not stolen but borrowed by a family member.
This was the same case as the other “missing” vehicle.
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) called on Dabawenyos to first verify information, especially on alleged criminal offenses, and to directly report them to the police station rather than resorting to social media.
“Atoa lang gyu’ng gihangyo na kung magpost gani ta, dapat valid para dili siya makacause og kahadlok sa mga Dabawenyo,” Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the DCPO, said on Monday in an interview with the Madayaw Program over the city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR). (CIO)
