Marcos on Friday, Feb. 16   visited Agusan del Sur to personally talk to Local Government Units (LGU) officials in the region.

Marcos was accompanied by Special Assistant to the President Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr. and Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso Magno.

A total of P120 million  was distributed to LGUs in Caraga Region.

Out of the P120 million, P40 million  was given to Agusan del Sur; P15 million  for Agusan del Norte; P35 million  received by  Surigao del Sur; P10 million  for Surigao del Norte; and another P20 million  for Butuan City.

The assistance was part of the P265 million  Social Fund of the Office of the President for affected LGUs of Eastern Mindanao.

The President vows to continue providing assistance to the affected families in the Caraga region, particularly access to medicine and potable water.

“We’ll continue to provide what we can but we have to have a  longer term, a more extended solution," he said.
