Police Major Rosario Aguilar, Talomo Chief of Police identified the painter as Jomel Gonzaga Darapan, 28 years old and a resident of Kilometer 8.5, Matina Pangi, Davao City.
Darapan, according to Aguilar, is listed as a High-Value Target Personality under her area of responsibility.
Darapan was arrested at around 9:27 Monday evening in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Talomo operatives in Matina Pangi.
The police seized a total of 58.5 grams of shabu worth P397,800.
Aguilar lauded her team for the success of the operation and vowed to make the drug war tougher.
She assured the public that they will continue to double their efforts to rid all the streets of crimes and illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old scavenger was also arrested by Ma-a Police Station and personnel from Bureau of Jail Management and Penology at 4 p.m, Monday.
The suspect, Remarc Mansi Romblon, a resident of Acacia, Calinan was caught in the act of throwing contrabands inside Davao City Jail Main dormitory,Ma-a.
Confiscated from him were 2.9 grams of suspected shabu worth about 19,720.; 30 pieces Mascada Tobacco (tres bee); 2 cellular phones; and 2 packs of cigarettes.
Both suspects were charged for violation of the country’s anti-drugs law.
