In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Prime Minister Kishida will visit the Philippines from November 3 to 4, which will be highlighted by his bilateral meeting with President Marcos.Β
βBoth leaders are expected to discuss the two countriesβ multifaceted and dynamic cooperation on political and security cooperation and economic and people-to-people relations,β the DFA said.Β
βAmong the specific issues to be discussed are the West Philippine Sea, trade and investment, and Japanβs Official Development Assistance (ODA). They will also exchange views on major regional, international, and United Nations issues affecting the region and the world,β it added.Β
President Marcos will officially receive Prime Minister Kishida during the welcoming ceremonies at the MalacaΓ±an Palace on Friday, November 3.
Before the visit of Prime Minister Kishida to the Philippines, President Marcos undertook his official visit to Japan in February 2023, sealing $13 billion worth of agreements that were seen to yield thousands of jobs for Filipinos. (PND)
