Captain Louie John Dema-ala, spokesman of Task Force Davao reported that the apprehension was the result of their intensified security checks in all the city’s entry points.
He said authorities manning the Lasang Entry Point in Barangay Lasang seized a pack of suspected shabu worth P2,880 from Bryle Basay Asuncion, 29 years old and a resident of Purok 4, San Juan, Maco, Davao De Oro.
Asuncion was on board in a public utility bus travelling towards Davao City on October 4 at around 4:40 a.m.
Also arrested at Brgy Lacson checkpoint in Calinan District on Tuesday (Oct. 3) were Genesis Padilla Bacus, 44 years old and a resident of Purok 17, CMU Musuan, Dologon, Maramag, Bukidnon.
Bacus was onboard a black Ford Raptor bearing plate number KAD 3064 travelling towards the city and intercepted from him was one Caliber 40 pistol bearing serial number W51271 with two magazines, and 50 bullets.
Task Force Davao Commander Colonel Darren E. Comia lauded the troops who made the apprehensions for their continued commitment in ensuring that no illegal items and contrabands will get through Davao City.
The suspects and the evidence were immediately turned over to concerned Police Stations for proper disposition.
