3 NPA rebels surrender in Talaingod

DAVAO CITY- Three New People’s Army (NPA) NPA members surrendered to the Philippine Army’s 56th Infantry Battalion under 10th Infantry Division at Sitio Central Buagan, Barangay Palma Gil, Talaingod, Davao Del Norte, on September 30.

10th ID spokesman Major Mark Anthony Tito said the surrenderers who also yielded two M16 rifles and a rifle grenade, identified through their aliases only as Sander, Alvin, and Alias Toks. They were formerly members of the Sub-Regional Sentro De Grabibad (SRSDG) Peddler of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) operating at the borders of Bukidnon and Talaingod. 

Brigadier General Allan D Hambala, 10th Infantry Division Acting Commander, expressed appreciation for the diligent efforts of the 56IB in persuading the CNTs to return to the folds of the law.

"The voluntary surrenders like this one are essential milestones in the region's ongoing efforts to sustain an Insurgency-Free Davao Region," Hambala said. 

10ID has recorded a total of 319 NPA members to include 134 Milisya ng Bayan and 67 Underground Mass Organizations (UGMO) who surrendered in their area of responsibility from January 1, 2023 up to present.

The command also gained a total of 141 seized firearms, 111 of which have been surrendered.
