Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Magno was also present at the venue.
The activity dubbed “Pagpupugay sa mga Bayani ng Bansang Makabayan (PBBM) pays tribute to the heroism and sacrifices of uniformed personnel who died and were wounded in line of their duties while staying true to their oath of serving and protecting their fellowmen.
The CSBP provides various types of benefits and aid such as special financial assistance, scholarships, special welfare, health and medical care, shelter and work assistance.
The DILG, being the lead implementer of the CSBP, ensures that prompt action is taken to efficiently and expeditiously deliver assistance to covered personnel and their qualified beneficiaries.
The program covers military and police forces, including uniformed personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary (CAA) units.
The CSBP program has already given a total of P468.75-million in special financial assistance and P308.45M worth of shelter assistance since 2016.
