CAFGU nabbed for illegal firearms

DAVAO CITY- An active member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) of Philippine Army was arrested for selling firearms at Sitio Lumundao, Brgy Marilog,Marilog District this city on Monday afternoon (Sept. 25).

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) in its report said at around 5:45 p.m., while the police were conducting checkpoint and border control in relation to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) gun ban, the suspect was arrested through buy-bust operation.

DCPO identified the CAFGU as Joselito Catad Capillan, 34, and a resident of Purok 1A Libertad, Arakan, North Cotabato.

Capillan was arrested after he was caught in the act of selling firearms and received the buy bust money from the Poseur Buyer Operative. 

Seized from him were buy-bust money, several magazines, .45 caliber pistol, bullets, and various identification cards.

A case for violation of election gun ban will be filed against the suspect.
