337 NPA members in Eastern Mindanao neutralized from Jan-Sept

DAVAO CITY- The Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) and its units disarmed a total of 337 communist New People’s Army (NPA) who surrendered, killed, and were arrested from January up to September of this year.

Out of 337 neutralized NPA members, 298 surrendered, eight captured, and 31 killed.

The command also seized 355 various firearms and 61 anti-personnel mines of the same period.

Lt. Gen Greg T. Almerol, EastMinCom commander said the command has continued to strike the dwindling forces of the Communist Terrorist Group (C T) in its joint operational area this month.

Almerol earlier lauded the troops under 4th Infantry Division in Cagayan de Oro City and the local government units, for their unrelenting collaborative efforts that resulted in recent accomplishments.

"The end of the CTG in Eastern Mindanao is now inevitable as the strong collaboration between our troops and stakeholders continues to crumble their forces,” he said in a statement.

Almerol renewed his call to the active CNTs to surrender and avail of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) benefits so they can restart their lives before it is too late.

Almerol, on the other hand, vowed to sustain the peaceful situation in the Davao Region and prevent CTG resurgence while they are finishing the fight in other parts of Eastern Mindanao.

"As we pursue the deteriorating forces of the CTG in Regions 10 and 13, we are also relentless in conducting sustainment operations to prevent the re-entry of communist terrorists in Davao Region,” he said.

He also assures that they are on track in defeating the CTG in their joint operational area this year.
