Davaoeno coach produces 2nd PBA player in PBA Draft 2023

A veteran Davaoeno coach produced his second player to be drafted in the Philippine Basketball Association in the 2023 PBA Draft.

Dariel Bayla, a former player of St. John Paul II College Saints under Howard Delgado, was drafted as the second pick in the 5th round by the Blackwater Bossing.

After the Saints also played for Arellano University.

Delgado told Newsforth he is pleased and proud to have produced another PBA player in Bayla.

Bayla is also the first player from Lupon, Davao Oriental, to be drafted in the PBA.

In 2021, Delgado produced his first PBA player, Leon Garcia, Agdao native Michael Canete, who also previously played for the Saints.

Meralco Bolts drafted Canete and later signed to a one year deal by San Miguel Beer.

Currently, Canete plays for the Bacoor Strikers at the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
