For PBA Partylist Representative Migs Nograles the Oplan Kabuhayan Jobs Fair traces its roots to an event organized by her father the late House Speaker Prospero Nograles in 2006 which was also held in SM City.
“This was two days before his birthday in October 25 and 26, it was a two-day event and eventually it became an annual event consecutively carried out by my brothers former Congressman and now Chairman of the Civil Service Commission Karlo Nograles, and former PBA partylist Representative former Congressman Koko Nograles,” Rep. Migs Nograles said of the job’s fair history.
She added that even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic the PBA partylist continued the jobs fair through the online platform.
She said the joint collaboration with DOLE, City Government of Davao and SM the objective of the jobs fair is to provide more jobs for Dabawenyo in the hope of achieving a 100% employment rate. The current employment rate in Davao City is 96.7% as of April 2023. (PIA/RG Alama)
