PNP cites Regional Police as best regional office

DAVAO CITY- The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 was recognized as the Philippine National Police's (PNP) best regional office during the 122nd Police Service Anniversary on Tuesday, August 8 at the PNP Multi-purpose Center, Camp BGEn Rafael T Crame in Quezon City.

Regional chief Brigadier General Alden Delvo personally received the award. The award was given to PRO 11 after careful deliberation and scrutiny of the performance of the 17 PROs from March 2022 to April 2023.

PRO 11 soared high with its fast and successful investigations and case filing of the different cases it handled for said period.Β 

Among the PRO’s accomplishments was the arrest of 3,038 illegal drug personalities and confiscation of 4,036.2396 grams of shabu amounting to P27.4 million and some P10.9 million worth of marijuana.

The successful anti-illegal drug campaign has led to the declaration of seven municipalities in the region: Talaingod and San Isidro, Davao del Norte; Malalag, Davao del Sur; Sta. Maria and Malita Davao Occidental; Boston, Davao Oriental; and Mawab, Davao de Oro, on November 17, 2022.

The Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) 11 on October 2022 declared Davao Region as Insurgency-Free during the Executive Committee Special Meeting held at Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City, under π‘…π‘’π‘ π‘œπ‘™π‘’π‘‘π‘–π‘œπ‘› π‘π‘’π‘šπ‘π‘’π‘Ÿ 07 Seπ‘Ÿπ‘–π‘’π‘  π‘œπ‘“ 2022.Β Β 

The proclamation came after the collaborative efforts of the PNP-PRO 11 and the Philippine Army through the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay and Community Support Program respectively.

The police also showedΒ  preparedness and readiness in the face of different emergency and crisis scenarios during the conduct of Simulation Exercises (SIMEX) during the Field Evaluation and Validation last month.

Delvo recognized all men and women of PRO 11 for their respective contributions to sustain and support the anti-criminality efforts of the region.Β 

He also lauded the efforts and conveyed his gratitude to the allied peacekeeping and security forces, the various Local Government Units, stakeholders, and the populace for their untiring support and cooperation that made them more effective and efficient in carrying out its mandate to serve and protect lives and properties.Β 

Delvo vowed to maintain and improve the current peace and order situation of Davao region through the strict implementation of Patrol Rehiyon Onse and other existing anti-criminality programs of the PNP.

The Davao City LGU also received a special award 5 as the safest city in the country. The award was received by Angel Sumagaysay, head of the Davao City Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC).
