Regional Police director Brigadier General Filmore Escobal said the anti-flu vaccination is one of PRO 11’s efforts to boost the protection of personnel and their dependents against flu and COVID-19 virus.
The vaccination was simultaneously conducted on December 7 and 9, at PRO 11 headquarters and its respective City and Police Provincial Offices.
About 558 personnel and its dependents of PRO 11 headquarters were inoculated, 1,654 shots for Davao City Police Office, 1,957 for the five Provincial Police Offices (PPOs), 235 for the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, 152 for the Forensic Group, 29 for the Regional Maritime Unit, 47 for the Intelligence Group, and 168 personnel of Regional Medical and Dental Unit (RMDU) 11.
The vaccines were free, which were sourced out from the Department of Health and PNP Health Service. The vaccination which was administered by RMDU personnel ended on Thursday (Dec. 9)
The flu vaccine was being administered so as to prevent additional complications from COVID-19, Escobal said.
Escobal acknowledges those who availed the vaccine and encourages everyone to continue practicing the minimum health standard intended for the protection against illnesses.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa libreng flu vaccine galing sa DOH at PNP Health Service; at ikinagagalak ko na marami ang nag avail sa ating personnel. Ito ay malaking tulong upang mas lalo nating maprotektahan ang ating mga sarili laban sa posibleng sintomas at komplikasyon hatid ng COVID-19. ”
