Woman tagged in househelper's death nabbed

DAVAO CITY- A 70-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly killing her househelper whose body was dumped at a roadside in Blk. 20 Lot 44, Deca Homes, Cabantian, Buhangin this city on Sunday morning, June 18.

The suspect, Nenita Pagatpatan was arrested by police operatives based on the footage from the CCTVs around the vicinity, where she was seen dragging a cart believed to be carrying the victim's dead body covered with a canvass (trapal). 

The police investigation showed that the victim, Sheila Lagsaway, 29 years old, a resident of Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental was wrapped in a canvass and bathed in blood.

The footage helped in the identification of the suspect, according to Davao City Police Office chief Colonel Alberto Lupaz.

Based on the result of the medico legal, Lagsaway died due to injury in her head and stabbed wound at the right side of her body.

In a statement, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) strongly condemned the incident and vowed to impose the full force of law on whoever is caught doing an illegal act or crime. 

DCPO urges Davaoeños to observe the culture of security in order to maintain the peace and order of the city.
