Davao City sweeps women's basketball crown in CEAP Mindanao finals

DAVAO CITY—Region 11, represented by two schools in Davao City, won the coveted women's basketball crowns in college and secondary divisions in the recent Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Mindanao games held here.

The Holy Cross of Davao College Crusaders emerged as champions at the tertiary level after beating the visiting Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (Region XII) 77-68.

In the secondary division, Region 11, represented by players from Philippine Women's College and Assumption School of Davao, emerged as champion after beating Region 10 in the finals 74-48.

The team, coached by the newly married head coach, Laurence Butch Bencio, is composed of Paula Madagat, Micah Adam, Michaela Merioles, Jhanna Tormis, Althea Paclipan, Charlotte Mari, Zyrah Alianza, Melanie Cagalawan, Andrea Yangyang, Danessa Galao, and Kristhiana Salingohay (Romeo Braceros Jr.).
