Abude in a report from the City Information Office (CIO) said they did not notice a massive impact of the transport strike in the city as they monitored a lack of involvement by jeepney drivers and operators.
"Together with LTFRB, ug ang among opisina nag monitor sa atoang area gikan sa Toril, Panacan, Calinan, and Buhangin, walay sector nga nag-strike,mnag-barikada, normal ang biyahe sa atong public utility vehicle,” Abude said.
Some members of the transport sector expressed their intention to conduct strikes in various areas nationwide in response to the government's plan to modernize public utility vehicles.
Abude said the city has prepared more than 20 buses days before to ensure transportation for the riding public in case the PUJs will join the strike.
"Naandam na nato pipila na ka adlaw tungod lagi sa atong close coordination sa LTFRB, in fact naa nami bus operators nga ready for deployment kon in kaso,” he said.
Abude said almost all bus operators such as Metro Shuttle, Bachelor Express, Yellow Bus and Golden Valley committed their personnel to the CTTMO for easier deployment.
The buses and routes for Peak Hour Augmentation Bus System also remain operational.
In lieu of the strike or possible rally, any rally, especially at Freedom Park will be monitored so that it won’t disrupt regular traffic.
Abude said that drivers are well-informed about the plan for the modernization of jeepneys in Davao.
“They are involved. During our PUV drivers' education, a speaker from DOTR came and explained the modernization,”he said.
He also said, there had been no objection to the modernization, especially on the High Priority Bus System.
