Star Aussie triathlete spices up Iron Man 70.3 Davao

DAVAO CITY---With the multi-champion Australian ready for another shot at IM 70.3 pro triumph at the opulent Azuela Cove, Dimity-Lee Duke serves as the event's early attraction for next month's eagerly anticipated return of IRONMAN to Davao.

When the prime city in the south first staged the wildly famous endurance event in 2018, Radka Kahlefeldt of the Czech Republic won by an 11-minute margin over Naomi Washizu of Japan, placing third was Duke, who had previously dominated the nation's top 5150 races before the epidemic.

The 2019 IM 70.3 Davao event was also won by Kahlefeldt, with Duke finishing in fourth place.

The 39-year-old seasoned competitor, however, who trains and sharpens in Phuket, Thailand, is eager and prepared to go for the kill in the 26 March event, the only 1.9 km swim-90 km bike-21 km run distance professional race offered in this year's series of triathlon races under The IRONMAN Group/Sunrise Events Inc. banner.

The IronKids on March 25 and the Girls' Run on March 24 will spice up the IM 70.3 Davao.

United Arab Emirates native Lottie Lucas and fellow countrywoman Sarah Crowley are also on the early women's pro roster. Crowley, who turned 40 on February 4th, 2017, won the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships and the IRONMAN World Championship, placing third in both events.

She replicated her third-place finish in the global competition in 2019.

While this is the case, Lucas, a 30-year-old runner from Dubai, is full of promise after placing third in the IRONMAN Dubai in March of last year, her first professional race.

However, a large number of additional competitors are also anticipated to join the chase in the prestigious competition that will also act as a qualification race for the World Championship in Finland on August 26 and 27.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
