PNP-SAF director Major General Edgar Alan Okubo in his report sent to News Fort identified the arrested suspect as Isnirul Kirih also known as Kiri/Kirin, a sub-leader of ASG operating in the Provinces of Basilan and Sulu.
Kirih was under the group of late ASG leader Isnilon Hapilon in Sumisip, Basilan and Radullan Sahiron in Patikul, Sulu.
The suspect is also listed as number 2 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) with P5.3 million cash reward based on Department of National Defense-Department of Interior and Local Government (DND-DILG) joint order.
Okubo said Kirih has been using different aliases as evidenced by recovering several Identification Cards with fictitious names such as Sakirin L. Kiram / Sakirin Isnain Kiram / Sakirin I Kiram.
The operation was joined and supported by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Sulu Provincial Field Unit (CIDG-Sulu PFU); Regional Intelligence Division PRO BAR ; Regional Intelligence Unit 9 (RIU 9); Sinunuc MPS, PRO 9 ; SOCO 9; 904th Regional Mobile Fore Company, RMFB 9.
Based on records, Kirih has a Warrant of Arrest for seven counts of murder issued by Honorable Betlee-Ian Barraquias, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court of Sulu, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 3 and certified by National Capital Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court Taguig, Branch 153.
Another Warrant of Arrest for 25 counts of frustrated murder was also issued by the same sala.
The suspect was turned over to Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) BASULTA (Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi Tawi) Provincial Field Unit Sulu for booking, documentation, and presentation in court.
