The OFW desks aimed at catering to the concerns of OFWs and soon-to-be OFWs are now open in all police stations.
DCPO spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey encouraged OFWs to go to the nearest police station to seek assistance for their concerns.
She said the police stations will coordinate with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Dela Rey said this is an advantage to Davaoeños living outside the city centers where services to OFW are primarily located. The said initiative is Aldo implemented nationwide so even police stations in other areas provide the same service.
“Concerns are much easier to address because this is a partnership between the office and other agencies,” she said.
Dela Rey added that national government offices such as OWWA and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) assigned dedicated personnel to answer inquiries and concerns relayed by the police stations.
Apart from the OFW desks, the city also currently has a referral office for the OFW Families’ Welfare and Crisis Center.
