Rogen Inn- Davao City’s newest homegrown hospitalization establishment located in the heart of the city’s business district is extraordinary as it houses homegrown brands’ cuisine in its compound allowing guests and other visitors the luxury to choose their favorite delicacies.

Of the six Davao’s best homegrown restaurants, Rogen Inn partnered with Marinatuna Seafood Restaurant famous for its 10- way tuna to serve free breakfast to its guests. By10-way tuna, it means the restaurant serves 10 bestselling tuna specialties. To name a few, tuna sashimi, tendon sizzling adobo, tuna panga, tuna head with eye paksiw, and tuna kare kare.

“Serving the longest dining hours among other restaurants in the compound, Marinatuna Rogen Inn branch is unique, offering buffet breakfast for the inn’s guests where food orders will be cooked fresh from the kitchen when refilling is required. No advance cooking, “ Wesley Bangayan, Marinatuna Rogen Inn franchisee said  in an interview, Monday (Nov. 21).

The daily breakfast fare comes with the basic dishes like eggs, sausages, corned beef, a selection of breads, rice, Filipino kakanins, fresh fruits, and coffee.

Take note, Marinatuna Rogen Inn is not exclusive for seafood lovers alone.  It goes beyond its seafood specialties. It also serves meat and vegetable dishes to cater non- pescatarians. Its delish Adobong Kangkong has become a popular dish among Davao’s most discerning.

The restaurant is also serving buffet lunch to the content of food lovers during

weekends.

“We’re giving our guests and food lovers in the city another good reason to visit. Every Friday and Saturday, Marinatuna is serving buffet lunch at P549 per head only,” Bangayan said.

Food lovers could savor a variety of their favorite dishes in the buffet lunch and feast on one or two of the restaurant’s bestsellers.

“That’s free breakfast for Rogen Inn guests and a weekend lunch buffet at Marinatuna,” Bangayan said.

Homegrown Rogen Inn quick facts

The opening of Rogen Inn in April this year took the public by surprise because in one quick look it could be mistaken as a condominium. The inn, composed of three mid-rise buildings because of its architecture design, is also mistaken as a hotel.

“Rogen is not a hotel but an inn. However, it was designed to exude the look of a hotel, the size of a hotel and promises the comforts of a hotel,” Gene Bangayan, the manager of the hospitality establishment said.

Unlike a typical hotel, it doesn’t have a kitchen or inhouse restaurant but it hosts some of the city’s popular homegrown eating places.

She said guests would find out for themselves that it is an unconventional inn or an untraditional hotel. One thing she confirmed of; the inn is accredited by the Department of Tourism.

Rogen Inn is located at Davao City’s central business district at the corner of Mt. Apo & Lopez Jaena Streets, which is accessible to both private and public transportation. The establishment’s strategic location gives its guests the benefit to go to points of interest like shopping, medical needs and appointments, and leisure.

Aside from food cravings, guests could also pamper themselves at Elements Salon found within the Rogen Inn compound. They could also flex their muscles at the popular Holiday Gym, on the top floor of the West Wing.

Similar to a hotel, Rogen Inn has a spacious lobby, a function hall that can be divided into three halls at the top floor of the South wing. It has also a wide parking space where visitors could safely park their cars anytime of the day or night.

Wesley Bangayan said the inn’s occupancy significantly improved.  Upon its opening, only three to five rooms were occupied. Currently, room occupancy has progressed with 50 percent of its rooms fully occupied especially during weekends. The three buildings offer a total of 328 rooms. Most of the inn's  guests are locals, he said.
