The 10th ID together with various agencies distributed 2,038 relief goods; 120 20-liters of water gallons,1,400 hygiene kits, 372 Purefoods ready-to-eat packs from San Miguel Corp, pre-loved clothes, slippers, several medicine, and other food items to the evacuees at the Notre Dame of Upi and Barangay Happy Valley of the same town.
Hazel Ann Marquez, 40, a resident of Barangay Nuro Poblacion, expressed gratitude for the relief goods they have received.
"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng nagbigay ng tulong sa amin at sa mga kasundaluhan po na nagbigay ng suporta," she said,” she said.
"Lisod kaayo kadtong pagbagyo kay ang among balay naabtan og tubig, pagkahuman didto nami sa taas sa sin, wala gyud mi laing nadala maski isa, ako ra gyung mga anak. Nahadlok gyud ko,” Marquez said.
10th ID commander Major General Nolasco A .Mempin expressed his sincerest sympathy to the affected residents of Maguindanao and thanked all the stakeholders who helped them in this endeavor.
Mempin said “attending to the needs and concerns of our fellow citizens in Maguindanao severely hit by the recent Typhoon Paeng only affirms that the spirit of 'Bayanihan' is still alive.”
He asked the public to continue to help fellow Filipino people who are affected by the catastrophe.
10th ID has partnered with the Kiwanis International, Youth For Peace Movement Region 11, Mindanao Peace Council, Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Palm City North Davao Eagles Club, City Government of Tagum, Philippine Federation of Local Councils of Women, and Business and Professional Women Davao Chapter to come up with the relief operation.
The military also thanked South Divers Point Sarangani, ECCAN Project, Balik-Loob, Balik-Tulong Former Rebel Organization, Office of the Vice-Governor of Davao De Oro, and other individual stakeholders.
