First Lieutenant Vincent Mark Maddul, 58th IB Civil Military Officer said their troop while conducting intensified combat operations, encountered about 10 members of communist terrorist group (CTG) believed to be remnants of the dismantled independent Platoon Falcon, Southern Regional Committee 1 of the NPA.
The encounter happened at around 12:14 p.m , which resulted in the death of another NPA rebel.
During the encounter, the operating team seized an AK47 Rifle, two M16 Rifles, M14 Rifle, Caliber 30 Carbine, eight Backpacks, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), personal belongings, and subversive documents.
Maddul said the cadaver is yet to be identified as of the moment.
Last October 20, the 58th IB also encountered the communist group in Barangay Alagatan, Gingoog City which resulted in the death of Susanito Hendina,59 years old , a resident of Barangay Rosario, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.
Lieutenant Colonel Christian C Uy, 58th IB commander said it clearly shows that the CTGs do not have safe havens and can be located by their troops wherever they may be.
Uy vowed to continue to hunt the ctg members and bring justice to all those they have victimized and terrorized."
Uy renewed his call to the CTG members to voluntarily surrender and stop the communist terrorism, or they will end up dead.
