Just like its previous grand parade floats, AirAsia's float this year showcases the celebration of Davao’s rich and diverse culture. Decorated with Davao’s flora and fauna, the Philippine Eagle, and the Manobo tribe.
The float also symbolizes the coming together of different tribes and people from different walks of life. The airline company’s livery which is seemingly taking off above the float signifies that it is now safe to travel.
Steve Dailisan, AirAsia spokesman and communications and public affairs head said that the company pays tribute to this festive celebration with their Davaoeño friends.
“After 2 years spent in isolation, we are one with Davao in shouting through the skies:We are back. We are here. And we are stronger than ever as we win as one,” Dailisan in a statement said.
AirAsia Philippines, meanwhile, had recently launched its 4x weekly flights to Davao from Cebu, and is planning to increase to 7x weekly by September. Manila-Davao flights will also be increased from 21x to 28x weekly beginning September this year.
Dailisan said in a press conference Friday that AirAsia Philippines is now strategically boosting its inter-island route network to support the resumption of economies in different megacities and provinces.
The airline company would also like to support trade organizations as it slowly recovers and restores its operations, Dailisan further said.
He also announced the AirAsia Philippines’ Flash Sale happening on August 22-28. Guests may avail of the P88 one way base fare from Manila to any of their domestic destinations and P788 one way base fare to any of its international destinations for travels from September 1 to March 25, 2023.
