The destruction covered 622.8960 grams of shabu worth about P9,966,336 and 11,789,9687 grams of marijuana valued at P2,004,294.679.
The destroyed dangerous drugs were presented as evidence in various cases filed before the Regional Trial Courts (RTC) 11, Davao City.
Mayor Sebastian Duterte, who was represented by the city’s Vice-Mayor Jay Melchor Quitain witnessed the destruction of the dangerous drugs.
Also present during the activity were Cresenciana DC Cruz the Presiding Judge Regional Trial Court, Branch 3, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro, City Director Alberto Lupaz, Prosecutor Janet B Dalisay-Fabrero, Regional State Prosecutor of Davao City, lawyer Suseyline B Abtarul, Chief, Public Attorney’s Office of Davao City, and government agencies’ representatives.
Duterte in his message recognizes the PDEA’s commitment in upholding its mandate to responsibly dispose of seized dangerous substances.
“May you continue to remain the city government’s dependable partner in implementing the laws for the benefit of our constituents,” Duterte said.
Duterte said he trusts that the activity will allay people’s concern about the proper handling and disposal of evidence.
He encourages the public to continue to support the government’s war on drugs to decrease the crime rate involving prohibited drugs in the city, ensuring the safety of the people and communities.
PDEA 11 director Aileen Lovitos commends the untiring effort of the local government unit, Police, and other law enforcement agencies, media, and the community for their support in the fight against illegal drugs.
She said the collaborative effort of the 5 pillars of the criminal justice system serves as a warning to all drug perpetrators that we are working hand in hand to suppress the supply of illegal drugs in our country.
