Report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said a total of 28 grams of shabu with a street value of P429,000, assorted drug paraphernalia were confiscated by the joint elements of PDEA, police and personnel of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in two separate areas in Davao City.
The first anti-drug operation was conducted at around 2 p.m in a condominium unit at Barrio Obrero St. this city where P228,000 worth of shabu had been seized.
Three men were arrested during the operation. They were identified as Ernesto Ponce Avelino, 53, and a resident of Iwha Subdivision, Toril; his live-in partner Alice Tillaeus; and a drug den visitor identified as Roland Misoles.
The second buy-bust operation in Purok 52, Phase 1, NHA Bangkal, at around 3:25 a.m yielded some P201,000 worth of illegal drugs.
It resulted in the arrest of Dolores Payot @ Yoyeth, 40 years old, the alleged drug den maintainer.
Also arrested were Henry Dulog, a business process outsourcing (BPO) employee, and Michael Thadeus Bendigo, an employee of the government.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.
