The Philippines once again showed they are at par with the world's best as far as dragonboat racing is concerned after winning two medals in the 7th Sabah FCAS International Dragon Boat Race 2022 held in Sabah, Malaysia, on July 2-3.

The Philippines, represented by the Bomba Pilipinas Dragonboat Team, won a gold medal in the 200m Mixed Small Boat Category and a silver medal in the 800m Mixed Standard Boat Category.

A total of 140 dragonboat teams from around the world joined the competition.

The competition was organized by the Federation of Chinese Associations in Sabah (FCAS).

In a Facebook post, the Bomba Pilipinas Dragonboat team is very happy with their win.

"Thank you, Berita RTM Sabah and RTM Mandarin, for the feature. It is a nice feeling to be recognized internationally and to represent our country. Dragon boat is not just a competition for us; we have a passion to embrace the sport more and to influence other people to join the diverse and healthy community," the Bomba Pilipinas Dragonboat team said.

Before their international win, Bomba Pilipinas was considered one of the top dragonboat teams in the Philippines that competed in local and international dragonboat races (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
