In a statement, the BOC Davao said the agency will give its full support on the plans and programs of the BIMP-EAGA to further accelerate the socio-economic development of its member countries through easier trade facilitation of goods and services.
This developed after the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Davao City conducted a Focus Group discussion on the Reviving of Air and Sea Connectivity of BIMP-EAGA Routes on June 20 here in the city.
During the discussions, they revisited talks about the revival of the said routes and the meeting involves the collaboration of various private and public institutions including the BOC role as the primary border protecting agency for the said project.
BOC Port of Davao District Collector lawyer Erastus Sandino B. Austria said several customs policies were tackled specifically on the importation process, types of importations and exportations.
Austria also said that the provisions under Republic Act 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) were discussed.
