Concio scored 50.0 points to rule the 2-day (April 16 and 17) online tilt sponsored by Asenso Pinoy Party-list friends.
“We do this to promote chess at the grassroots level and discover new sports talents,” said Arena Grandmaster Rey Urbiztondo, the brain of the tournament.
International Master Ronald Dableo, a Philippine Army chess team standout who is also the head coach of the University of Santo Tomas chess team, took the second place honors with Arena 47 points, Fide Master Roel Abelgas and Grandmaster Darwin Laylo registered each Arena 45 points wound up strong third and fourth place finished while National Master Mark Jay Bacojo got 42 points is in fifth place.
The five (Concio, Dableo, Abelgas, Laylo and Bacojo) are members of the famous Dasmarinas Chess Academy of Rep. Elpidio "Pidi" Barzaga Jr.
Rounding up the top 10 were Jan Clifford Labog (sixth), Karl Victor Ochoa (seventh), International Daniel Quizon (eighth), National Master Gerardo Cabellon (ninth), and Fide Master Sander Severino (tenth).
The tournament Director is National Master Henry Roger Lopez, while the tournament arbiter is National Arbiter Cecilio " Ely" Acas. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
