Pilot, student in Cessna plane crash in Davao Oriental are now safe

DAVAO CITY- The pilot and the student of the Cessna Plane that crashed in Barangay Dahican, Mati City, Davao Oriental, Monday (March 7) are now in stable condition, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 confirmed.

The plane owned by Mactan Aviation and with body number RPC9005 was on its training flight from Davao City when it crashed along Sitio Otso, Purok Bitan-agan in Mati City around 7 a.m.

Both pilots were initially reported missing after the rescuers from Mati City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) failed to find them.


The plane was taking off when it hit a mango tree and crashed, the Mati City Information Office  reported.

The Mati City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) immediately responded to the area after they got the information from the Davao Oriental Provincial Police Office.

Kyla Reyes of the Secdea Aviation who managed the crash site said that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is now investigating what really caused the said incident.
