The shabu with a street value of P500,000 was found in the possession of Alias Megs (name withheld for being a woman), 33, single, and a resident of said barangay.
Talomo chief of police Major Noel Villahermosa said the suspect was caught in the act selling illegal drugs to the police who acted as poseur buyer.
The raiding team was able to recover from the possession of the suspect some sachets of suspected shabu, buy bust money, items used for her drug transactions such as weighing scale and cellphone, and other non- drug items/personal items.
Villahermosa encourages the public to help in the campaign against illegal drugs by feeding and providing the police with relevant information of the illegal activities in their community.
"Her arrest proves that your police are indeed working double time, triple time, to stop the proliferation of these illegal drugs, but we also need the cooperation of the general public to sustain it and of course to successfully prevent the occurrence of crime," he said.
Villahermosa called on the public to report to authorities through hotline numbers 297-1598 or 0919-4439-634 should there be any information relevant to the government's campaign against criminality, illegal drugs, and terrorism.
"Let us all lend a hand in making our community safe and secure," Villahermosa said.
The suspect is currently detained at Talomo Police Station pending the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
